Daily Scripture Quote: God Gives Us Power, Love and Discipline

Fan the flame of the Gift of God which is inside you. This gift gives you power, love and discipline.

I will be honest. I had to re-read this quote a few times to really grasp what it was saying. But then it finally clicked. God has given us everything we need inside of us.

He has equipped us to be like Him. Think of that. We are made in God's image.

We are made to be like God. Usually we are our own worst enemies. Allowing fear to seep in that prevents us from reaching our full potential. Keeps us from reaching our Glory.

But if you forgot your worldly fears and instead tap into the power He gave you, you will find true strength. Inside of you is power, love and self-discipline.

God made us to be like Him

God doesn't want us to be timid in sharing His message. God doesn't want us to be afraid to reach out to those in need. God wants us to show power. He wants us to be strong so that when others see His disciples they will be amazed and astounded. God wants us to most importantly have Love. Love for Him. Love for one another. This means expressing love. Express love to your children if you haven't yet today. Life gets busy. Sometimes we forget to hug, forget to love. But love on those closest to you today. Love on your spouse, kids and family. Love on those that are hard to love. This may be a cranky neighbor, a know it all co-worker or anyone who is difficult to deal with. You are commanded to love them too. Look for something worth liking. They probably have some great stories to tell if only anyone ever asked them. Lastly God gave you self-discipline. Discipline to choose what is right. Discipline to make good choices, to not sabotage yourself with bad choices. Choose to be disciplined and your life will become easier.
